The phone is likely to compete with other mid range smart phones like Samsung Galaxy Ace, LG Optimus One P500 and HTC Wildfire S. This mobile will be available in India by September 2011 and will be priced at around Rs.14,000. We have reviewed the important features of Motorola XT531 to see how well it will be able to compete with other mid range smart phones.

Size and Design:
Motorola XT531 has a candy bar design with a big touchscreen that dominates the front view. The phone is 114mm in length with edges that are completely curved. The phone can’t be put in to the categories of the slimmest devices around; it is 11.95mm thick and weighs about 114g.

Display:
XT531 features a 3.5 inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It also features multi touch input method proximity sensor and light sensor.

Camera:
Motorola XT531 features a 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash, the video recording capability is not yet confirmed. It also features a VGA secondary camera for video calling.

Processor and OS:
It features a decent 800MHz processor and the latest Android OS that is Android 2.3(Gingerbread). The Ginger bread is not very common in market on low budgets. It is a nice move from Motorola to feature decent processing power and the latest Android operating system while keeping the budget in the mid range.

Connectivity:
It features a Dual-band HSDPA/Quad-band EDGE, Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, Wi-Fi and Micro USB 2.0

Battery:

The other best part of the budget Android from Motorola is that it features both single and dual SIM models in selected parts of Asia. The dual SIM models are expected to be available this fall.
