Motorola Fire Vs Samsung Galaxy Pro

Motorola Mobile recently launched their touch and type Android Mobile, Motorol Fire in India. This phone has received a decent response in the Indian markets. However it has some real quality competition with other touch and type Android Mobiles. One of the top competitor is Samsung Galaxy Pro, which was Samsungs's first QWERTY Touch and type android phone in India. This post talks about the comparison of these two phones.

Size and Design:
The major difference between the designs of these smart phones is that Fire has the display in portrait format whereas Samsung pro uses the same conventional style of landscape screen that we often find it business smartphones. These screen formats means Fire has a long and Galaxy Pro has a wide design. Fire is 116mm long in contrast to Galaxy pro, 108.6mm. It has a width of 58 mm compared to 66.7 mm of Galaxy Pro. Galaxy Pro is thin, having 10.7mm of depth while Fire has 13.5mm; Fire is also a little heavier, weighing 110g in contrast to Galaxy Pro’s 103.4g. However, Galaxy Pro is a little bit extra Wide!

Display:
Both the smart phones have 2.8 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 320 x 240 pixels and 256K color support. Fire features Motorola Switch UI while Pro doesn’t have the Samsung TouchWiz UI. Both phones also have the same pixel density of 143ppi and features proximity sensor and accelerometer.

Camera:
Fire features a 3.15MP camera with maximum image resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. It doesn’t have the LED flash and autofocus feature and records video with maximum resolution of 480p at 24fps. Galaxy pro also features a 3.15Mp camera but comes with auto focus and records VGA video at 30fps also featuring the smile shutter feature giving it a little edge over the competitor.

Processor and OS:
Motorola Fire has a 600Mhz Arm 11 processor, powered by Adreno 200GPU where as Samsung Galaxy Pro has 800 MHz of processor. Fire features Google Android 2.3(Gingerbread) OS where as Pro features Android 2.2(Froyo).

Storage Capacity:
Motorola Fire has 256 of RAM and 512MB of ROM whereas Galaxy  has512MB of internal memory. The external memory of both the phones can be extended up to 32GB

Connectivity:
Fire has 3G support and features Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP, Wi-Fi and micro USB 2.0. Galaxy has Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and It’s also features the Wi-Fi hotspot.

Conclusion:
Both these phones have almost the same features and even almost the same price around Rs.8,500. However, because of presence of Android 2.3 and a Portrait display, I will personally prefer Motorola Fire.

Nokia has found a market saver from themselves in the latest Nokia Dual SIM Mobile Phones, this is one segment where they are slowly doing good and have introduced decent phones. Recently Nokia launched their first touch and type dual SIM Phone, Nokia C2-03. It is a decent phone and we thought of comparing it with another good dual SIM phone by Samsung, the Samsung Champ Duos E2652. Both these phones are available at almost the same price around Rs.4,200 in India.

Size and Design:
Nokia C2-03 is a slider with touchscreen giving you the luxury to type or to touch whereas Samsung Champ is completely s touchscreen phone. Due to sliding form factor C2-03 is quiet thick having a total depth of 17mm compared to 13mm of Champ. C2-03 is 103mm long in contrast to Champ, 99.9mm. The sider is however a little less wide at 51.4mm compared to 54.9mm.

Samsung Champ Duos features a 1.3MP camera having maximum image recording resolution of 1280*1204 pixels; it also records QCIF video at 15fps. C2-03 with its 2MP camera is the winner.

Storage Capacity:
Nokia C2-03 has only 10 MB of internal memory compared to Samsung Champ having 50MB. Both phones support memory extension up to 32GB via micro SD memory card.

Connectivity:
Both Dual SIM phones don’t have the support for 3G neither have Wi-Fi connectivity. The easy swap feature of C2-03 is worth mentioning, it allows you to insert SIM cards with out having to turn off the phone. There’s a Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and micro USB 2.0 support in both these phones.
Conclusion:
Both the Dual SIM phones have features that are very much alike. The touch and type luxury in C2-03 and better camera are surely a big boost though which turns the tie in its favour. Also the "Nokia ka Bharosa", specially in the low segment market.

Motorola Fire features a full QWERTY design with a big touchscreen in the portrait format rather than the conventional landscape format that we see in most of the business smart phones. Fire’s design is perfectly suited for its bigger touchscreen. It is 116.5mm long and 58mm wide, the depth of the smart phone is 13.5mm. Galaxy Pop on the other hand is completely a touch screen smart phone. It is a little wider than fire with 60.6mm of width but much smaller in length, 10.9mm.  Galaxy pop is also quiet thinner having a depth of 12.1mm. Samsung Chat 527 Mobile Review

Samsung Mobile India have launched their latest QWERTY Mobile Phone, the Samsung Chat 527. This is their latest addition to their successful Chat series phones. Samsung Chat 527 comes with 2G as well as 3G support, 2.4 Inch Screen, QWERTY Keypad, 2MP Camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. Samsung Chat 527 Price in India is Rs.5,300. It is a decently priced phone considering the features, however this phone have been a very nice buy in the 4,500 range.

Size and Design:
Normally phones with QWERTY keyboard are quiet wide but Ch@t 527 is quiet compact comparatively. The keyboard has decent sized keys, very much oval in shape. The phone is 103mm in length and 55mm in width. The edges curves in slightly and the depth of the phone is 12mm. The weight is also on the lighter side at 96g.

Display:
It features a 2.4 inch TFT screen with a resolution of 320*240 pixels and pixel density of 167ppi. The display is not the brightest having just a 56k color support. Display is perhaps one area where this big lacks big time. It is not the one for high-end multimedia experience but still one would have expected a better display.

Camera:
It features a 2MP camera having a resolution of 1600*1200 pixels. There is no auto focus and LED flash to go with it but it supports video recording. There aren’t any image enhancing features as well, only feature the camera has is geo-tagging. Lack of flash is disappointing but there are different shooting modes available.

Storage capacity:
The internal storage capacity of the phone is 80MB and can be extended up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Connectivity:
Samsung Chat 527 has decent connectivity features with 3G support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP and micro USB 2.0. It also supports GPS connectivity with A-GPS.

Battery:
It features a Standard Li-Ion 1000mAH battery that is capable of providing up to 288 h of standby time and up to 3h of talk time. The battery is not the strong point of the phone by any means especially when you are looking to chat for long hours.

Other features:
Samsung chat 527 also has Stereo FM radio with RDS, Digital compass, Organizer and supports predictive text input.
