Samsung Galaxy Pocket a new Android Smartphone from Samsung, As the name suggests Galaxy pocket is indeed a pocket friendly device. It is tiny, smart and perfectly portable. The budget smarty from Samsung aims to capture the throne in the low budget android segment. Size and Design:

Pocket fits perfectly in to your palm making it a delight to work with. Like many Samsung phones the home button is right in the centre below the screen. It weighs a mere 97g and is 12mm thick, 103.7mm long and 57.5 mm wide.


It features a 2.8 inch TFT capacitive touch screen having a resolution of 240*320 pixels and a pixel density of 143. The viewing angles are not the best specially in daylight and the brightness has to be adjusted to 100% for a better view. It features the Multi touch and is powered by the TouchWiz UX UI.


It features a 2MP camera having a resolution of 1600×1200 pixels. The camera lacks autofocus and LED flash. It is capable of recording QVGA video @15fps and features Geo-tagging.

It features Android OS v2.3 (Gingerbread) ran by a 832Mhz ARM 11 processor.


It features Wi-Fi with Wi-FI Hotspot features, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP micro USB v 2.0 and support for EDGE.

The Standard Li-Ion 1200mAH battery is capable of providing upto 500h of standby and up to 5 hrs and 40 min of talk time on 3G coverage.

Galaxy Pocket also features Stereo Fm radio with RDS, support for GPS with A-GPS, JVA via MIDP emulator. The phone has social networking and entertainment apps integrated. It is available is Black color only.

All in all samsung Galaxy Pocket hasn’t got any extravagant feature but a blend of all the basic necessities of a smart phone at a very affordable price.
