Sony Ericsson launched a few mid range Android phones under the popular Xperia Series including the Xperia Neo, Xperia Neo v and Xperia Ray. Sony has recently announced three new Xperia smart phones, which also include a couple of mid range phones, Xperia Go and Xperia Sola. Here we are going to look what Xperia Sola has to offer.
Size and Design:
It features an all square elegant and sleek design. The body is made up of soft plastic with glossy finish giving it a premium feel. Xperia Sola is only 9.9mm thick and weighs only 107g. It is also quiet compact. The bottom front features the touch sensitive controls.
It features 3.7mm LED-backlit LCD, capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The display is quiet crisp and sharp having a pixel density of 265ppi. It features multi touch up to 4 fingers. The display is scratch resistant- floating touch and powered by Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine.
It features a 5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash having a resolution of 2592х1944 pixels. The camera features geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization and 3D sweep panorama. It is capable of recording video with720p resolution @30fps.
Processor and OS:
Xperia Sola features Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread) which SE plans to upgrade to the latest version. It is ran by Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex A9 GPU powered by Mali-400 GPU.
It comes with decent connectivity features following Wi -Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards featuring Wi-Fi direct, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot. It also supports NFC connectivity, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP and microUSB v2.0 with USB On the go support.
The internal storage capacity of the phone is 8GB but only 5GB is user available and 512MB of RAM. External memory can be extended up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
The standard Li-ion 1320 mAh battery is capable of providing up 475h of 3G standby time and up to 5 h of 3G talk time.
The phone is priced at around Rs 20,449 and will be available across the country in coming few days.
