Sony launched its much awaited flagship Smartphone, the Xperia Z. It runs on Android 4.1 JellyBean touted to be upgraded into 4.2 very soon, a sony skin is integrated with the JellyBean version as always.
Sony Xperia Z comes with a 5 inch LCD Full-HD(1080p) Display giving a pixel ratio of 441 PPi supported with the Bravia Engine II under it. The smartphone is IP57 certified which means that it is a dust and water resistant (1m or 30mins to be precise). It is also covered with Gorilla Glass on its sides apart from the display.
The device houses a rear 13MP camera that is equipped with the latest Sony Exmor RS sensor and comes with a plethora of new features such as shooting on HDR taking up 3x exposures side by side, clicking pics while making videos and sorts.
Now, the Xperia Z boasts of a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset coupled with 2 GB RAM, Adreno 320 GPU, 16GB of internal memory which is expandable via SD-card.
On the connections front, it supports LTE network, NFC, DLNA certification, Bluetooth v4.0.
The battery underneath is Non-removable 2,330-mAh Li-Ion battery.
Sony in its Press Release said that the Xperia Z would be globally launched at the end of Q1 but no pricing details were given up. Having said that, this Xperia would be priced in excess of Rs.30,000 for sure.
