Flipkart.com, the online retailer biggie has launched a full feature native Android App for its customers. Previously it had an app which was bundled as its mobile site but now the app has gone under a major design overhaul and it is clearly seen that Flipkart wanted to give people a shopping experience closer to the desktop site. Through this app, people will be able to shop from the shopping portal like they did on the desktop site.
The app has uncluttered UI design and users can easily navigate to various departments, switch between products and much more apart from the basic functions. On the homepage of the app, there is a list of ongoing deals and offers and the bestselling products.
The navigation to the various departments is done by a left side bar extension which is “Shop by Departments” and alternatively, a user can also search for the products in the search box.
Like in the desktop version, users can also choose their filters, brands and price range. There is an option of viewing images which supports pinch-to-zoom gesture. The payment options on the desktop version of the shopping site such as Cash On Delivery, Credit/Debit card, EMI payment modes are retained by the app as well. A user can also track order from the app and share products with his friends on the go. Voice search and Barcode scanning are among the new features of the Flipkart App.
You can download the app from Google Play Store.
