Motorola has finally launched the much awaited Moto G in India today at a price of Rs. 12,499 and Rs. 13,999 for the 8GB/16Gb variants respectively. The smartphone would be exclusively available from Flipkart starting tomorrow with some introductory offers from India’s largest online retailer. Motorola has gone with an exclusive online retail model in India and thus the device will not be available in brick-mortar stores.
Looking back at the specifications, the Moto G flaunts a 4.5 inch Gorilla Glass 3 coated IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 326 pixels per inch. The device is powered by the quad-core 1.2 GHz clocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with Adreno 305 for graphical rendering backed up by 1 GB of RAM. The device comes in two internal memory variants- 8GB and 16GB. Additionally, Moto G features a 5 megapixel rear and 1.2 megapixel front snapper and the basic set of connectivity features and sensors.
The thing here to note is that the Moto G launched in India is a Dual-SIM model unlike the one that is available globally. Since, India is a large market for smartphones with dual SIM capability, Motorola might have just hit the chords right in place. The device runs on Android 4.3 but Motorola has promised an Android 4.4 upgrade soon. The company also claims the smartphone to be nano-coated which makes it water-resistant.
To sweeten the deal further, Flipkart is offering its customers with a bunch of introductory offers with 70% Off on Moto G colorful covers, Rs. 500 Off on eBooks, Rs. 1000 Off on clothing and some lucky customers might even get a 100% Cashback as a store credit.
